In the land of the free and the home of the brave, A struggle for equality has long been waged. For centuries, the color of one’s skin Has determined the opportunities given within. From slavery to segregation, the fight has been long, For basic rights that should never have been wronged. The blood, sweat, and tears shed in the past, Have paved the way for progress that should forever last. But still, the struggle goes on today, As the echoes of discrimination refuse to fade away. Police brutality and racial profiling persist, And the dream of true equality remains a constant mist. It’s time for change, it’s time for love, To rise above the hatred that we’ve been thinking of. For only together can we truly succeed, In tearing down the walls of hate and greed. Let us stand united, hand in hand, And work to build a future that is truly grand. Where the color of one’s skin is no longer a chain, And we can all finally breathe free without any strain. Let us strive to be the land of the free, And the home of the brave for all to see.
