Gallery wraps follow the same procedure as museum wraps except that the image appears on the front and sides. The stretcher bars range in depth from 1/2" to 2". If left unframed, gallery wrapping adds a 3rd dimension to the piece since the art is visible from all sides as you are viewing the art on the wall. Framing is optional for gallery wraps, but always enhances any artwork. If framed, it is important to select a stretcher bar depth that is compatible with the frame you desire. For example, deeper stretcher bars (1.5" and 2") will look best in float frames or possible frames that are very deep so as to hide the deep sides of the gallery wrap.
