“While people-watching on vacation in Amalfi, Italy, I noticed a mother exasperated with her children who were running up and down the steps of the cathedral as she tried to gather them up after a wedding that had just taken place. She was standing by a beautiful white 1967 Rolls Royce. The look on her face was so familiar to me as a mother of my own five children. The people in the background and the hustle and bustle of the city center was calling me to take a photograph for future artwork. It wasn’t until I arrived home that while going through my pictures, I realized the children had placed two little animal figures by the back tire of the car. I giggled when I thought about them placing their little animals there and decided they must be part of the artwork. Not only did I include them but that is how the piece got its name. I’m now inspired and determined to take photos of city centers around the world that include children with their toys for future art pieces.”
