Spent next 45 years designing and building stuff -- custom residential, commercial and historic renovations, landscapes, masonry, cabinets, furniture.
Somewhere around 2005 I started creating custom lamps and sculptures from scrap construction material (I abhor waste) and in the process started playing with mixing colors into lacquer (a preferred furniture finish). Then I tried my new colored lacquer highlighting plywood grain (I had always "seen" landscapes in plywood grain) ... and I was totally addicted! I have been producing Paintings in a style I generally refer to as Metarealism since 2010.
