Based in Austin, Texas, Mike Hewett is a self-taught photo realistic painter whose works depict scenes derived from everyday life. While his works are realistic, they are also expressive and represent things of meaning in his life.
The artist works across a broad spectrum of subjects ranging from urban landscapes to elements in nature. Working in the medium of oil paint, Hewett chooses to focus on the visual stimulation aspects of color and perspective.
