After 30 years in Southern California, Ann has recently moved to Austin, TX to be closer to family. Her art from California was always informed by the temperate climate and abundant sunshine of the region, as well as the flowers in bloom and the light bouncing off the ocean. She is excited about new creative possibilities that her new home in Texas will offer: fresh landscapes, wide-open skies, wildflowers, and the subtle yet varied color palette of the American Southwest. As always, Ann is inspired by nature in all its forms. She is an award winning impressionist painter who works en plein air as well as in her studio. Ann has studied oil painting with her mentor and teacher Deborah E. Giese, as well as Southern California artists Bernard Fallon, Curtis Green, and Tom Balderas, and in Aix-en-Provence, France with Jill Steenhuis. She is a former member of the Palos Verdes Art Center and The Artist Studio of Palos Verdes. Her work can be seen in various local shows and exhibits, and in private homes across the country. When she is not at home in Austin, her favorite places to paint are Wellfleet, MA and Provence, France.
