Ashley Mayel Ahmad moved to Houston in 1968. She received her Bachelors of Science degree in Interior Design and Art Education from The University of Houston. She is a former member of the Art League of Houston, as well as the Sugarland Area Artists.
Ashley's art has been exhibited in various cities including the Sakowitz store in the Houston Galleria; Austin, Texas; High Point, North Carolina; Laguna Beach, California; and the Art Zoo Gallery in Manchester, England. She has also been featured in the Assessories Today Catalog and Living Magazine.
She has executed the interiors of several commercial buildings and homes in Houston and Austin and continues to pursue her passion of designing and creating art with her own company.
Ashley has blended her love of life and adopted American culture and captures these flavors in her original and diverse art pieces, poetry, and design. She is inspired by seascape, landscape, and abstract art. Ashley picks the optimum design and color scheme to create a balanced work of art.
Ashley says "Each time I create, I feel free. I love the joining of different colors and flowing together of simple shapes. The lost boundaries in art fascinate me. If my art does not touch someone, it is nothing. When it works, a shared feeling bonds me with the viewer forever."
