Irakli Mirzashvili grew up in a family of visual artists in Tbilisi, Georgia (the country), and works in oil pastel, collage, and photography. His artwork has been exhibited in the United States and Georgia, and his visual art has been published in The Adroit Journal, Camas Magazine, Ignatian Literary Magazine, New Delta Review, Peatsmoke Journal, Phoebe, Ponder Review, Sheepshead Review, The Penn Review, New Limestone Review, among others. His work places figures from American folklore into surreal, dreamlike arrangements, finding humor and quiet absurdity in the collision of the natural world, industry, and myth. After living in rural Alaska, the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, and the Great Plains of Kansas, Irakli resides with his family in the Austin, Texas, area.
