Jesse is a native Texan from Red River County. His motivation to create works of art began in elementary school and continued throughout his professional career. He has always considered art as more than a hobby; artistic endeavors were his shelter from the demands of the corporate world. Fortunately, Jesse's engineering profession allowed him to travel and visit the great art museums of Europe, Egypt, New York and Chicago where he could study and draw inspiration from the great masters of art. Now that Jesse has retired from that life, he devotes all his energy in the pursuit of art.

Artist Statement

When I see something that speaks to me, I want to paint! My choices for subjects are purely intuitive and emotional. In my early years, I was continually on the hunt for that “perfect subject,” but time and experience have taught me fantastic subjects are everywhere. My work is primarily with soft pastel. My subjects are usually landscapes or portraits. My portraits are of people with strong character, or of historical significance, or of a person(s) requested by friend or family member. Nothing thrills me more than to see the excitement of a patron pleased and happy with my work!
