Joy Bliss was born in Janesville, WI, Her childhood was as much filled with sketchpads and paints as it was with tree climbing and bike riding her. Art and nature became early loves that never faded for Joy. The wonder of camping trips and the ability to travel as a young woman has reaffirmed a love of nature and our human connection to it.
Joy is now a self taught and self represented artist living in Buda, Texas, just outside of Austin. She's painting every chance she gets and loves to paint with friends.
Her pieces are surreal to serene, fantastical to abstract, and bursting with colors and texture. Joy's art is channeled from the energetic and beautiful calms that are found throughout nature, and patterned with shades of her own experiences. Her art is most heavily influenced by nature, her family, and music.
Every painting is crafted with years of dedication to technique in order to imply emotion, or an idea with color, detail to patterns, innovative ideas through media, and life experience. She has been creating art on a massive level for over a decade and has produced products ranging from room enhancing canvases, custom murals and paintings, pregnancy belly casts, and even usable and decorative furniture.
Joy is always expressing one idea or another with medias such as: encaustics, acrylic paints, oil paints, paper mache, weaving, and metal. She takes time in all media forms to master it's ability to express the idea she seeks to create. It is clear to any onlooker that Joy Bliss' Art has a unique and clear value to the time and fantastical idea she has put forth in her work, always encouraging a second take and endless more to discover every detail put into the image that makes it complete!
