I reside in Cedar Hill, TX where I have a studio in my home.
I often ask myself “why do I paint”? The answer is simple in itself but complicated in reality. I paint because I have to.
As long as I can remember I have had to “make my mark”. From crayon murals on closet walls to bobby pin drawings on my mother’s washing machine I have always been creating.
I grew up in the deep south surrounded by tangled forest, lazy rivers, and beautiful flora and fauna. I am motivated by the power and complexity of nature and grounded in its inspiration. It is my primordial calling to express emotion with my palette. As a colorist, pastel is my chosen medium. The vibrancy and spontaneity of the medium pushes me to explore and create.
I invite my viewer to enter my world and experience a moment solely their own.
I graduated from Wesleyan College, Macon, GA with a BFA in Graphic Design.
I also work in watercolor, gouache, oil and pencil. My paintings and drawings are in private collections in Mexico, South America, and the USA.
