Leslie Kell, a seasoned lens-based artist, and designer has dedicated over 35 years to her career in the Austin area. Holding a BA with a background in painting and illustration, Leslie initially worked as a freelance graphic artist before expanding into photography and digital art. In 2008, she embarked on developing a distinctive technique that seamlessly merged her photos and drawings, resulting in her unique images. Taking her artistic pursuits to new heights, Leslie incorporated layers of video to craft mesmerizing cinemagraphs. These captivating creations have graced the spaces of the Austin Bergstrom International Airport, featured in juried exhibitions, public art installations, film festivals, the digital edition of the Summer 2020 NARM Quarterly, and even found a place in physician waiting rooms. Leslie's artistic journey includes participation in numerous exhibits, especially in the realm of digital art showcases. Her contributions have earned her awards, featured exhibitions, and a solo show at the Elisabet Ney Museum. Additionally, she has been commissioned to create artwork for various publications. Residing in the Austin area with her husband of 37 years, her devoted dog Frida, and two cats, Leslie actively contributes to the arts community. She serves on the boards of two nonprofit arts organizations and has previously held the position of president in one. Leslie's extensive involvement includes curating and organizing numerous fine art exhibitions, all while maintaining a robust schedule of her own exhibits.
