Of all the important influences in her art life, she gives credit to her architect father, Arnold Vernon and Sister Anne. Both incredible artists that saw something in her worth nurturing. In 1961 her father gave her his 1944 edition of Andrew Loomis's "Figure Drawing for All It's Worth" and Sister Anne, the formal art teacher at Saint De Chantal Academy, patiently provided private art lessons twice a week. She gives them all the credit for why she does art.

Early work life didn't provide an immediate path to fine art, but graphic arts and publication design did. She served as New Mexico IABC (International Association of Business Communicators) Chapter President in Albuquerque. Her work garnered numerous national awards. A variety of corporate positions provided considerable domestic and international travel. She's long held the belief that the best instructors are in museums.

Lightning struck five years ago in the form of pastel. It took her drawing to a whole new level. She and her husband reside in Bastrop, Texas with their two dogs and two horses.
